About

About us

Falling UP Together operates as an art collective for mental wellbeing that facilitates socially integrated artistic collaborations for all levels of mental health.

We promote inclusion, equality, destigmatization, arts development and advocacy for neuro-diversity through participants' cultural contribution to society.

Participants are supported in short and long-term collaborations to access cultural society through their creativity in self-actualised art practices of purpose and meaning.

Our goals

Falling UP Together aims to introduce into Scotland for public benefit an innovative art, mental illness and recovery model of ecologically sustainable mental healthcare through artistic lifestyles within culture, based on the renowned Gugging system in Austria.

Project facilitators are artists, researchers and educators with wide experience of delivering sessions to people living with mental illness, and/or social disadvantage. We are qualified with lived-experience of mental illness and recovery, and have wide experience of curating art exhibitions that advocate for neurodiversity-in-action.

We are eager to continue our project sessions to offer longer-term support to existing participants, and to engage newcomer participants. Working with other charities, including Change Mental Health, Fairway Fife, the Corra Foundation, Fife Employment Access Trust, and the Calais Woods Conservation Group, has expanded and enriched our experience. It has also established our project's additional value, in providing to beneficiaries a multi-agency support.

Ramona, an artist & guardian at Atelier Gugging, who helped set up the open-studio in Gugging in 2001, says, "Hi, to Falling UP!"
